Instead of making multiple posts, I will be posting the biggest news all under one post. I don’t plan to put EVERYTHING, keep in mind. Let me know in the comments what was your favorite news of this year’s SDCC! (I will publish this every time something new is updated…since SDCC isn’t a one day thing)

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

The final Hunger Games film, Mockingjay Part 2, features Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Willow Shields, and director Francis Lawrence on the panel. The panel started with a drum performance. Conan O’Brien is on stage as the moderator and introduces the director first, followed by the producer Nina Jacobson, then the cast. Check it out in the video below:

Bruce Timm announces new animated DC films at the panel for Justice League: Gods and Monsters. The next DCA film will be Batman: The Killing Joke! The other films are Batman: Bad Blood (featuring Batwoman) and Justice League vs Titans.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel is a big hit with appearances from the original trio, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill! The villains of the film have also been revealed to be General Hux (played by Domhnall Gleeson), Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver), and Captain Phasma (played by Gwendoline Christie). They ended the SW panel by surprising fans with a concert! Stormtroopers led everyone to a waterfront stage and famous pieces from the films played. Fans received light-up lightsabers there as well, with the night ending, of course, in fireworks.

Zack Snyder surprises fans in the Hall H line (for tomorrow’s WB panel) by rolling up in the Batmobile and then passing out free Batman v Superman t-shirts.

SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Warner Brothers panel included films The Man From U.N.C.L.E, Pan, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Man From U.N.C.L.E started with a reworked trailer and director Guy Ritchie’s video. Very short panel with some Q&A.

Next was Pan, with Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller, Garrett Hedlund, and director Joe Wright on stage. New trailer was shown as well as additional footage featuring the introduction of Blackbeard (Jackman).

Batman v Superman was up next but wait – SIZZLE REEL! All DC films coming soon were featured and the Green Lantern movie is a GREEN LANTERN CORPS FILM. David Ayer pops up on stage for a surprise appearance! He says, “I’m not trying to start an east coast west coast feud with Marvel comics but… DC has the best villains.” Suicide Squad cast makes special appearance and shows a dark and gritty trailer! (Check out the leaked trailer on my instagram below) Harley sounds great! After their surprise appearance, BvS is finally on stage and the cast does some Q&A. We find out Ben was given advice by Christian Bale at a Halloween store – to make sure he is able to pee when in the suit. We learn Holly Hunter is indeed playing a senator in BvS, and one Luthor seeks help from. Metropolis and Gotham’s locations are changed to be sister cities across the bay such as San Francisco and Oakland. Now they show a new trailer (below). I have to share this quote from Deadline – “A single scene of Gal Gadot kicking ass as Wonder Woman and the audience blew up like the Death Star.” Fucking done. They won. No more highlights. Bye. Panel:

Suicide Squad trailer: (Officially released after leaked video gained over 7 million views. Ayer tweeted he was unhappy about the leak and that it was made for those who waited a long time in line to see it. He also mentions he will make it right and has shared the official trailer)

Panel:

20th Century Fox panel consisted of The Maze Runner sequel (The Scorch Trials), Victor Frankenstein, Fantastic Four, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Deadpool. Chris Hardwick is moderating this panel, which is apparently the last time he hosts a Hall H panel. The Scorch Trials is up first with a new trailer. Director Wes Ball comes out along with the cast, Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Giancarlo Esposito, Rosa Salazar, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie Sangster, and author James Dashner. A new clip was also shown.

Thomas and Brenda are in a tunnel using flashlights to illuminate graffitied walls as they walk through the murky floors. Eerie music accompanies the scene. He looks for Brenda. She calls him over to look a a wall covered in vines. They’re in a sewage pipe. A shriek comes from one of the pipes and a rat emerges to their relief. It’s badly cut and scurries away only to be snatched up by what looks like a zombie and eaten as the zombie breaks free of the vines constraining it. They look like the creatures from I Am Legend but sound like the Clickers from The Last of Us. A horde chases them and shrieks as Thomas and Brenda sprint away. The running continues as the two arrive at a ledge out of nowhere. A building is collapsed and leaning on another and the creatures are closing in. (via comicbook.com)

Victor Frankenstein is up next with James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe, and director Paul McCuglin on stage. A clip is shown from the film.

Dr. Frankenstein walks down the hall and yells about a “Big presentation in Hall H”. Seriously. He begins explaining justification for the life he created and unveils a creature laid on a gurney in front of him. He invites the on-lookers to get closer but they’re uneasy. “By the miracle of electricity, I give you in 3… 2… 1…. Life” He electrifies the creation and electricity runs through the body and he touches it, shocking himself. On-lookers mock the Doctor. He electrocutes himself trying to prove himself but the mocking continues until the creation begins to breathe. “It’s alive,” the doctor says before the monkey-like creation bursts from the table and he is electrocuted and hurled backwards. Elsewhere, Igor enters a laboratory and the creature suddenly lunges at him. (via comicbook.com)

Now it’s Fantastic Four with Kate Mara, Michael B Jordan, Miles Teller, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, and director Josh Trank introduced to the stage. Director Josh Trank on the film – “It’s an origin but it almost works as a prequel of the characters before they become the iconic version of those characters,” adding, “It’s a group of friends who become a family.” They show the final F4 trailer.

“When I grow up I want to be the first person to teleport himself,” Reed explains to his class. The teacher mocks him. Young Reed shows off his device which makes his house shake, the power boxes outside explode, and young Ben calls Reed insane. Current age, the four grace the screen and enter the teleportation device to be sent to another planet. Reed stretches and the Human Torch burns while their attached to gurneys. Sue explores her powers. Johnny lands emphatically and makes a joke. The thing drops out of a plane. The government thinks they’re powerful which makes them dangerous. The ground lefts up and creates a hole in the ground in a snowy location. The government wants the Fantastic Four’s help. The Thing fights in the first. Doom stops an incoming boiler with one hand. Action sequences as Johnny Storm flies at apparently the speed of light. (via comicbook.com)

Deadpool rolls in…well, Deadpool-style.

The camera approaches a dimly lit character in a chair as a monologue filled with foul language introduces Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Deadpool claps the light on, says a few thinks culminating with “Let’s f—ing do this.” He goes to put a pipe in his mouth but drops it because he is in his Deadpool suit and claps the light off. Ryan Reynolds then steps out on stage with the rest of the cast, Morena Baccarin, Briana Hildebrant, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller, and director Tim Miller. They chat about the film for a bit before showing Deadpool trailer.

Panel:

“I love you Wade Wilson,” says Vanessa. Wade sarcastically implies cancer he’ll survive cancer. A sketchy scientist tells him “We can make you better,” and claims he can make Wade a super hero Wade wants to do right by his girlfriend. He doesn’t want a green super suit though! He calls the Doctor Posh Spice and calls the nurse a “less angry Rosie O’Donnell.” Then he’s sitting on top of a bridge and attacks the men in a truck he jumps into, straight out of the previously leaked footage but with a different song, not Gwen Stefani. He opens a window in a sideways truck and talks the men with guns pointing at him, saying, “This guy’s got the right idea, he wore the brown pants!” He kills them all, then Colossus smacks him into a car. Negasonic introduces herself and Deadpool says, “What the sh–!” “F— Liefeld” says Deadpool. Miller makes jokes about Reynolds f—ed up face and Wade claims to look “like a testicle with teeth.” DMX plays the whole time. Deadpool twists off of a car and kills three guys with one bullet before sniffing the smoke from his guns and saying, “I’m touching myself tonight.”

Finally, the X-Men head to the stage. Hugh Jackman immediately teases the audience with “Old Man Logan.” Then Bryan Singer runs out. After the two do a couple of quick exchanges, the rest of the cast is out – Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Lucas Till, Alexandra Shipp, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Olivia Munn, Ben Hardy, and then Simon Kinberg. Before showing some footage, Kinberg explains the setting of Apocalypse and that is the 80s, 10 years after DOFP.

Elements flash by as Jean Grey wakes up. She claims to have seen the end of the world. “I can feel all this death,” she says but Professor X assures her it was just a dream. Apocalypse narrates, saying he’s been called many things and giving a monologue consistent with a God-complex. He’s persuading the mutants to follow him. Mystique and Quicksilver look upset. Magneto is cornered in a forest. Moira MacTaggert explains her tracking of Apocalypse. Characters flash by for their first appearances. Nightcrawler and Raven have a standoff. Magneto asks, “Who the f— are you,” after Apocalypse removes his hood. “Come and see,” he says, showing his purple face and silver helmet. Professor X says he can control all of us. Magneto forces him into Cerebro by pulling his chair with his powers. Cyclops can’t control his powers. Chaos ensues. Quicksilver runs through a hallway and Beast raises a gun but he’s not turned blue. Professor X’s eyes go black and he says, “I’ve never felt power like this before. The title card graces the screen, then the doors to Cerebro open and Charles is sitting in his chair, bald. (via comicbook.com)

Chris Hardwick ends the panel by bringing out every single superhero on stage (from Fox that is) but doesn’t have a camera, until Channing Tatum (Gambit) walks out on stage and takes the photo with a selfie-stick, concluding their panel.
